The 12.30pm Mass in St Mark’s Church, Springfield on Sunday 29th June 2025 marked a farewell to Fr Bill O’Shaughnessy and Fr Pat O’Rourke who are transferring from the Tallaght parish of Springfield, Brookfield and Jobstown.

At the very interactive Mass and the subsequent gathering in the school hall where refreshments were served to the young and old, a great community spirit was evident. The very multicultural congregation showed their deep appreciation to the departing pastors for their service.

Spiritans Fr John Skinnader and Fr John Correa were introduced to the parish and warmly welcomed by the chairman of the parish council, Mr Don Harper. Supported by Spiritan Mission Ireland, they will begin to get involved in the parish over the summer. In the Archdiocese of Dublin, Spiritans already minister in the parishes of Bawnogue, Deansrath, Greenhills and Kimmage.

Picture shows Fr Skinnader (far left) and Fr Correa (far right) along with the Spiritan Provincial Fr Brendan Carr (second from left) and, second from right, Fr Daithí Kenneally (Spiritan Mission Ireland).
