Annmarie Reid and Gráinne O’Rourke represented The Spiritans at the annual summit of The Wheel in Croke Park, Dublin in May 2023. The day was filled with interesting sessions exploring the big topics currently affecting the voluntary and community (charity) sector. Topics ranged from the future of public-service delivery to the impact of positive storytelling. Among many sectors represented were cancer, childcare, homelessness, new communities and overseas development.
In his in-person speech Joe O’Brien, TD, Minister of State at the Department of Rural & Community Development (pictured, giving his address) showed that he is very engaged with the sector. Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, TD, joined the event by video link.
