Celebration in September 2022 of Jubilees of Profession

On Saturday 10th September 2022 some 50 Spiritan missionaries mark the Silver, Golden, Diamond, Platinum or 75th Jubilees of their profession. The Profession celebration in Kimmage Manor, the first such since the Covid-19 pandemic, covers anniversaries that fell in 2020, 2021 and 2022.  Among the Golden Jubilarians is Michael Liston C.S.Sp. (pictured) who was professed in 1972.

The Profession celebration in Kimmage Manor, the first such since the Covid-19 pandemic, covers anniversaries that fell in 2020, 2021 and 2022.  Among the Golden Jubilarians is Michael Liston C.S.Sp. (pictured) who was professed in 1972.

Michael Liston C.S.Sp

Michael is from Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.  Following secondary school studies there, he entered the Congregation in 1971. He studied Philosophy in Kimmage Manor, followed by a year in Rockwell Agricultural College. He ‘prefected’ in Sierra Leone (Sumbuya and Gerihun) and studied Theology in Kimmage on his return. Having taken perpetual vows in 1979, he served in Dublin’s inner-city (Rutland Street) until moving to Pakistan in 1985 where he served in Rahim Yar Khan and Mirpur Khas. Returning home in 2017, he currently assists with the SPIRASI befriending service, works with rough sleepers’ outreach services in Dublin and is involved in initiatives of Dublin City Interfaith Forum.
