After 12 years of ministry in the Diocese of Elphin, Fr Pat O’Toole C.S.Sp. has now retired.

Earlier this year, Fr Pat, who is a native of Co. Mayo and who had missioned in Kenya as a young priest, was one of 13 Irish Spiritans who celebrated the 60th anniversary of their Ordination. On his departure from the parish of Ballintubber-Ballymoe, Fr Pat’s parishioners thanked him, saying that he had “been part of every family in their joys at their children’s Weddings, Christenings, First Holy Communions and Confirmations. The parish newsletter noted that Fr Pat “was always there in your sorrows at the death of the members of the family and always gave joy, hope and inspiration to all sick parishioners whom he loved to visit at their houses and nursing homes.”
