Orientation Course for incoming pastoral ministry workers  12th September 2025 

The first of a series of orientation courses for pastoral ministry workers was run by the then Kimmage Development Studies Centre in 2016. Designed to meet the needs of incoming clergy, pastoral workers and religious, the very diverse course covered liturgical, practical and personal-development elements, as well as the realities and challenges of pastoral work in Ireland at the time.

The first of a series of orientation courses for pastoral ministry workers was run by the then Kimmage Development Studies Centre in 2016. Designed to meet the needs of incoming clergy, pastoral workers and religious, the very diverse course covered liturgical, practical and personal-development elements, as well as the realities and challenges of pastoral work in Ireland at the time. 

Today, the latest 2-week course, now run by Spiritan Mission Ireland, has concluded in the Spiritan Retreat and Spirituality Centre in Co. Meath. Its 7 female and 5 male participants (pictured), come from Africa, Asia and Europe and are serving in Cork, Dublin, Kildare, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo. 

Further courses are envisaged in 2026.
