Fr. Chika Onyejiuwa C.S.Sp. – Director of Kibanda, the European Spiritan Centre for Solidarity – visited the Irish Province in April 2024.
Kibanda seeks to promote the sustainable development of disadvantaged populations in developing countries by supporting the overseas development work of Spiritan missionaries. A recent collaboration has been formed with the overseas development sections of the Spiritans in Ireland, Portugal and the USA and is overseen by Spiritan International, the Congregation’s Central Development Office which is based in Rome.
Fr Chika is a member of the Congregation’s Nigeria South-East Province and is based in Brussels. His predecessors in leading the work of Kibanda from the Belgian capital include Fr Michael Begley and the late Fr Brendan M. Smyth.
