Forgetting And Remembering

Forgetfulness is a very modern habit.

We forget our keys, we forget our texts, we forget our connections.

We can forget too about everyday kindnesses.

We can easily forget where we have come from and where we are going.

God is our origin and our destiny.

Desert experiences can make us forget or remember

What our life is meant to be about.

Covid helped us remember the importance of care, of family, of relationships, of human being together.

When we gather for Eucharist, we forget and we remember.

We remember he gave His life for us.

We remember he called us to do this in His memory.

We remember that He really wants to nourish us with His Life.

We remember once more that we become His Body, His Presence to and for the world.

We forget our failings, our divisions, our anxieties, our fears, our doubts.

We forget our past, our wanderings, our lostness.

We remember the call, the mission, to be His Body NOW.
