The latest Orientation Course for Pastoral Ministry Workers in Ireland concluded on 4th September 2026. The 2-week course was held at the Spiritan Retreat & Spirituality Centre in Ardbraccan. Bishop Ray Browne of Kerry, on behalf of the Irish Catholic Bishops, and Sr Franca Onyibor, Superior General of the Congregation of the Holy Rosary Sisters, presented certificates to the participants.
The 19 priests and nuns who completed the course included Capuchins, The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, The Holy Rosary Sisters, The Medical Missionaries of Mary, Oblates, Our Lady of The Apostles, Rosminians and Spiritans as well as diocesan priests. 8 of the group came from Nigeria. Others were from India, Kenya, The Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Zambia.
Themes covered in the course included Pastoral Ministry, Relationships in the parish and other pastoral settings; Working Within and Across Cultures; and Child Safeguarding.
The next course is scheduled to run from 21st February to 5th March 2027.
