Earlier in 2026 Rockwell College Past Pupils’ Union (PPU) presented a special Lifetime Achievement Award to Fr Pat Downes (pictured) to mark his service since 1979 to the Co. Tipperary school and to the PPU.
Fr Pat was educated in Ennistymon CBS in his native Co. Clare. He later attended Blackrock College where he also served as a prefect and, after his Ordination in 1968, as a teacher. As well as teaching, his many roles in Rockwell included games-master and sports coach.
