The Mission Awareness Programme (formerly ‘Mission Appeals’) has been an important aspect of our work for many years, giving the Province the opportunity to let parish communities in Ireland know about the work in overseas mission of Spiritan confrères.

Following the lifting of Covid restrictions, the programme resumed in 2022, in Killaloe and half of Down & Connor diocese.   In 2023 we were assigned Area 2 of Down & Connor, and Area 1 of the Archdiocese of Dublin. A sincere welcome greeted us in all the parishes that we visited. The majority of the appeals were given by Augustine Bangalie, John Brown, Brendan Carr, Martin Kelly and Paddy Moran.

Our Missionary League renewal mailing took place in August/September. This year a new brochure was produced, outlining some of the work supported and including a copy of our Autumn 2023 Walking With The Poor newsletter, which depicts many aspects of Spiritan work, including in Zambia and with Apprentis d’Auteuil in France.
