The Season of Creation draws to a close as we approach the Feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, 4th October.  Hopefully it’s been a time of learning and action for us all.

The gospel reading today reminds us that action speaks louder than words.  It is important that this action be together both at the community (micro) level and at the broader (macro) level.  This is well captured in the theme and logo of the Season.

The various tributaries of the river and the river itself give the flow of justice and peace of which the prophet Amos speaks. Thus, collaborating with others each and all of us are called to urgent action wherever we may be.  There are many groups in our communities and it is a place to influence at the micro level.  This can in turn become a national endeavour as seen with seed-savers and others.  Online is a very fruitful way of keeping in touch with others on both the local and the broader levels. The website www.laudatosimovement.org   is a good one to link into.  www.seasonofcreation.org  is the website that covers this adventure which we have shared and invites to further engagement.

May these reflections of the past 5 weeks sustain and inspire us as we seek that Mighty River where Justice and Peace flow.
