A Reflection for the Second Sunday of Easter / Divine Mercy Sunday (24th April 2022)
Thomas is absent when Jesus comes and stands in the midst of the apostles in the locked room and shows them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoice. However, the returning Thomas is having none of it: “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nail marks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

A Reflection for Easter Sunday (17th April) 2022
There are three people mentioned in the Gospel for Easter Sunday morning: Peter, Mary Magdalene and the Beloved Disciple. postle because that is what the tradition says. However, the evangelist chose not to identify this person, chose not to give him (or her!) a name. That can’t have been an accident.

A Reflection for Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion (10th April) 2022
Wars rage, we have a climate emergency and Covid-19 continues to threaten. The human suffering and sadness are incalculable. We all live in the dark shadow of these realities, and –in varying degrees – people are dealing with daily challenges, sometimes coping with issues from poverty to ill-health to loss. Keeping faith with ourselves and our world can be a struggle.

A Reflection for the Third Sunday of Lent (20th March) 2022
The Gospel today is sometimes known as the “Gospel of the second chance”. In the second part of it we see the owner coming to the vinedresser looking for fruit from his fig tree. There is none. So, he tells the gardener to cut it down. However, the vinedresser pleads with the owner to give it another year, to give it a second chance.
